Hello....
My name is Claire Player and I live in a beautiful old Sunday School House in the Yorkshire Hills. I love antique cameos and rice pudding, Clark Gable movies and red shoes, vintage buttons and summer picnics, but most of all I love to sew.
I have a City & Guilds diploma in Embroidery & Textiles and although I grew up in a happy home of homemade things, my love affair with the needle really began when we went to live in Russia in 2002 on an overseas posting. Taught by a master in the art of embroidery, Lydia Ivanova set me off on a journey of fabric and thread which is part of my everyday.
I design my own quilt and embroidery patterns and you can find these in my Etsy shop. As to who exactly Ruby Seppings is, well it’s a family name and a mix of my two grandmother’s, one a milliner and one an amateur tailoress and my Mum, who gave me my eye for colour and my steadfast patience, for which I am forever grateful.
